This program was use to winning. A lot! Winning was contagious. But so is losing. Once Freeman took over it was up to him to keep the ball rolling. Fumbles, penalties, dropped passes are what happens when doubt sets in. There are so many things that go into being successful. It's obvious the players have lost faith in their coaches, teammates & themselves. The bottom line is this team is very poorly coached and Freeman doesn't have the answers because he has no experience as a head coach.

Where is our Natural when we need him?

it around for Kelly. As many games as we blew in 1986 the ending at Southern Cal, along with a little help on a spot from the refs got us belief for 1987. Michigan then fumbled like 7 times when we played them in 1987 and Tim Brown with the two punt returns against Michigan State made us think we were pretty good going into 1988. Plus we had a lot of cocky recruits returning,(Watters, Brooks, Bolcar, Stonebreaker, Preskitt) and we lucked out when Michigan missed about a 45 yard field goal on final play and we were back.
I was at that game,28-3 over the utes.Punt blocked by Robert Blanton if I recall correctly.BK really had team prepared for that game.
I eventually made it onto the field too. Not because I wanted to, but I was swept away in a tsunami of students and I had no choice.

Stop making excuses. Freeman took over a very good program and lost 4 of his first 7. When you lose to really bad Marshall & Stanford teams it was Freeman losing culture that set in.
