Someone down below said it best - everything that could go wrong went wrong.
- TD called back because Tyree lined up wrong.
- Pyne fumble leads to 3 Stanford points.
- Replay incorrectly overturns fumble (I still-framed it and the ball was punched and moving before McKee's knee touched the ground).
- Estime fumbled when offense was finally humming and looked like it was gonna score.
Yes, the poor coaching - specifically by Rees - was detrimental. The going-for-the-TD decision was a 50/50, so I'm not even considering that. But the play call itself was just bad. And Rees kept calling plays that Stanford seemed to know was coming. I still think Gerad Parker needs to be an unofficial co-OC.
We had some fluke plays/situations beat us last night. But I also recognize if Rees knew what he was doing, they would have been irrelevant. As for blaming Freeman, it was perfectly logical to let Rees have control of the offense. The problem is Rees has greatly regressed since Kelly left. So while BK wasn't a great coach, at least he could game plan to a certain extent.
after Long’s departure. He had a couple nice games but we’re talking maybe a couple, literally a couple.

running tall and east to west, he had opportunities during the run to turn it up and gain two yards for a first down. The overturn of Stanford fumble reminds me how we used to get every single blatant biased call against us when we played the Pac 10/12 teams. From the stands it looked like Mayer was being held every time he ran a crossing route and that defenders arrived way too early at least 5 to 6 times. That said the play calling was horrendous and yes we run on so many second and longs. Earlier in the year when Estime had a good game I said the only thing he has to watch is protecting the ball while trying to gain every last yard and last night it bit us in the ass. Sometimes you have to know when to fold them. It looks heroic but it is not smart.

week. Did bite us this week.
It's simple. When your team sucks. Take the points.
Year-to-date, this team sucks. There's no other way to say it. There is a lot of collective talent but the TEAM as a whole sucks. Harsh but the reality, until they figure it out.
People keep pointing out flaws in the defense, but if you look at every other college defense, you see the exact same flaws - and Alabama gave up 52 yesterday.
At least our defense is keeping teams in check, points-wise, the only stat that matters. Golden seems to have the Diaco bend-but-don't-break philosophy. So far, so good.
to tell me they would expect to be 3-3 when only allowing 21 per game I'd laugh at them.
It's a complete dumpster fire on Offense. If you are a college football team and can't score 28 points or more per week, you have problems IMO.
Sure, statistically the defense looks bad. But by actual points given up, I'd take it all day long. We just don't have anyone with an offensive brain on the staff I guess.

Certainly the school doesn’t. So analyze all you want ND as a football powerhouse are over. Let’s talk about Colgate.
I will be a Marshall at the 2023 PGA here in Rochester. Please leave your name with me and I will ensure that you are not admitted.
it was hotter and humid then hell and I knew he would be going to the water jug a lot. I planned ahead a couple of holes each time and was about 4 feet away from him about 4 to 5 times. What a thrill and he kicked ass in that tournament.
