And they have not played a defense the caliber of ND's. This will be a comfortable win (by 24 or more)...IF there is no letdown from Clemson. If there is, it will be a frustrating but semi-comfortable win.

Take a look game-by-game how they have shut down their opponents running attacks this year.

QB (Arline) had the most yards thanks to a couple of off-tackle breakaways which to my eye were aided and abetted by Cincy's lack of aggressiveness on the edge...beyond that, Navy didn't do much...on Offense, Cincy only tried to run 20 times...passed for 299 yds...os hard to tell from that game what a powerful running team like ours would accomplish on the ground...although Cincy's top RB had a 5.5 ypc average on 11 of those runs...somehow I think that the Midshipmen will get a little tired come the second half...note that QB Aline got dinged up twice in that game...not sure how he's going to be this week.
One other thing from the Clemson game...TR called a nice TD pass from Pyne to Mayer after so many successful runs...I'm looking to see at least one of those on Saturday.

Marshall and Stanford also showed how bad they can be, especially without decent QB at the helm.
Not to shit on your optimism, it's just that we as ND fans need to look at each game as a possible loss.
And it's because we don't have a dynamic QB or a true 1st string QB. Also, I'm not willing to
give Rees a pass because of it, he too is more than capable of calling a crap game.
I don't think ND could lose to Navy, but I thought that when Kelly was the coach and that didn't turn out
so well.
Preparation is key - We know Navy likes to play keep away with the ball and run the clock which means
fewer possessions for the ND offense and ND/Rees and Pyne very often waste their opportunities with
bad play calling and terrible decisions on the field along with sloppy play.
Naw - this will be a - get the win and get out of there type game. I don't expect ND to play well at all
if past is prologue.
