Their philosophy would need have to be power running and play action passing.
Rees for the O not doing much when he has a QB that honestly cannot do much.
If Rees is the problem, it is because of the terrible QB room we currently have (and that includes Buchner and the others).
Jury is still out on Angeli, I guess, as we've never seen him. But overall, the QB room is far below what top programs have.
philosophy.
Board opinions aside, Rees is on a trajectory to be here for at least a few more years until Freeman heads to the NFL.
Rees is part of the succession plan for head coach.
If it’s in current form, then we’re electing the Northwestern path.
Should have happened before he got the OC gig….
If he measures up, fine.
ND should never have become “Training Wheels U.”…but it has…

The team was not prepared to play on either side of the ball. Forget the playcalling - the OL was half-asleep and horrible. That was the root of the issue.
I fear replacing him would be the equivalent of the Colletto-Rogers debacle.
#2 - you cannot dismiss the intensity with which the service academies play for the entire game. it's part of their dna to never give up. they have to carry that attitude going forward when they graduate. we should keep navy on the schedule just to demonstrate how to sprint through the finish line - regardless of the score.
#3 - (and not an excuse), there had to have been a letdown after clemson. marshall loss is another example of this. after tosu, there wasn't much left in the tank. the team needs to learn how to regroup after either a win or a loss so they can develop stable consistency week to week.
to step up and get a fucking stop
Golden shares a lot of the blame for their lack of discipline. His defensive game plan sucked too. Especially in the 2nd half. It just wasn't a good showing by ND on offense or defense.
Plus we had a turnover on our own 20.
whole team shit the bed the second half. The Navy backup QB looked like Tom Brady
Marist ripping off the helmet was horrible (and cost Foskey a sack BTW). The holding and PI by Brown were bad too. Maybe a little tickey tack but, still...
Also looked great against Clemson.
From my La-z-boy, it looks a lot more like failed execution when we struggle offensively. I am not a fan of Rees, per se, but if I'm assigning blame, he's not the primary problem.
