Before I got too excited about Minchey, I watched his highlight film and wow…boy was it deserving of all the accolades and scholarships! Seriously gifted, the ball seemed to rocket out of his hands, with just a flick of his arms, hitting his moving target right on the money in space and time.
Wait, I have nothing else to do on a Monday night, so I googled Pyne’s ‘ultimate highlights’. Holy smokes. They guy is(was) on fire both with his arms and legs. I had to say to myself, am I watching the same Pyne?
What an obscure art this thing called recruiting is!
Watching Pyne’s video made me realize talent alone doesn’t stand a chance in the college game. It takes perseverance and diligence, great coaching, and may be a little bit of luck. All the best to Mr Minchey and here’s to him becoming the greatest QB to ever play at ND. (If he comes here)
small window, 4 games: "In his four starts in the regular season this year, ... completion percentage to 73.4%"
Playoff game: "returned for a playoff game to complete 19 of 33 passes" = 57.58%
Before we anoint him as Joe Theismann, let's see what the kid can do. The bi-polar swings based on a single day's worth of evidence, is getting mightly out of control.

in high school. They're just are overlooking it because he's > 6'.
Who on earth knows how he will do in college we should let him get here and play a few CFB snaps first. At the moment his comp % is no greater than what people are moaning about as a big negative spot for Pyne.

heaving it with all he has and under-throwing Lenzy by 10 yards. Minchey shows great touch when he needs to and velocity when he needs to and even when he guns it it's a nice, catchable ball. He is way taller, bigger and stronger armed than Pyne. I've watched Pyne's highlights too, and Minchey's a far better prospect.

Oh that’s right Rees and Freeman will coach him up.

Merely made excuses
If we think we are going to consistent challenge for the CFP and a top 5 finish we have to do better than a guy like this
Certainly better than Pyne and Buchner and Angelli
Every weekend I literally see 10-15 QBs better than ours merely by flipping stations.
Pyne wouldn’t play for bottom tier SEC, B10, PAC-12 etc teams. It’s sad

If the Panthers have their eyes on a particular QB, I'm going to guess that he's not exactly chopped liver.
Looking back in recent history, they did a good job of developing Tom Savage, Nate Peterman, and Kenny Pickett, all of whom were drafted. I'd even throw Ben Dinucci in there as well, even though he finished his career at James Madison.

Don't go to sleep on Buchner either as we do not know his full potential.

Rees wants to prove he can scheme for anything...

Lack of competition has a lot to do with that also but Pyne went from a 5* star caliber Soph to a mid level 3* star as a Sr due to lack of progression and physical traits.

Everyone is celebrating like it's a done deal. Is it?
Decommitted Pitt and taking visit at ND is all I've seen.
