Who starts at LB next year? Bertrand, Liufau, and Kiser might all be back. Where's that leave Sneed and Kollie ? Sneeds gotta start..right?

Exactly why they won't be! But then again our coach was a 5* LB and not a guy who thinks he can win everywhere with 3* talent all around the field.....So we will see

Will - Kollie. Mike - Tuihalamaka. Rover - Sneed. That's what my heart says. My head says

Liafau, Bertrand and Kiser.

Such a difference in size, speed and athleticism in the first group that they better play if ND decides to go with the latter.

That's the lineup I see. Makes the most sense. Talent and athletically. They just have to lock-in

There still needs to be a pretty hefty culling on the roster. Rough current scholarship count is somewhere around 94. If you add a DL guy (Fiske) and a QB, somehow we need get to find about 10 guys to shed. LB seems to be a place we could afford to shed at least one.

Given relatively light experience throughout the roster and next year's schedule, I wouldn't expect ND to be competing for a NC. One of Freeman's goals next year should be building the experience of the higher talent guys on his roster rather than putting guys out there who just aren't impact playmakers. I get where Kiser/Liufau/Betrand are competent, hard working lbs, but I can probably count the number of high impact plays the three of them combined to make in 22 using just my fingers.

You mean "actually" having the 3 most TALENTED players on the field??? I'd love to see it but for some reason it just hardly happens here nowadays.

Thread Level: 4

My hope is that because the most talented guys are "Freeman's guys" he'll find a way to get them in.

Or Bowen?

Drayk "The Real" Bowen is actually pretty polished for a kid coming out of high school.

Thread Level: 3

Bowen is a beast. Probably hit the 2-deep for sure. Still gotta learn the system.

Sneed and Kollie both need to start as they are more athletic and faster and have greater upside.

While the other three are competent, I feel they are liabilities. Bertrand too slow. Liafua is too erratic, can’t get off blocks. Kiser a tad too small.

Agree, but don’t forget Tuihalamaka. He was fabulous.

Hopefully that's not permanent as he seems to be ideal for Mike LB.

I don't believe illusions because too much is for real.

Agree. We’ve all seen them play at times and it’s mind boggling how they don’t start.

When Pete Carrol coached USC, didn’t the one year have a bunch of starting freshman?
