This was a whiff.
He's 26-18 this isn't really knocking the cover off the ball in a very weak ACC. Has looked decent but I don't like the trade. We should have gone after a more talented QB if we were going to upset the apple cart.
2.67 TD to INT vs. 4.0 which we had.
He does have more passing TD's in total but Wake passes a lot more than ND. Hope he does well but this is a miss.

see over the OL and D-line and that's why the pocket kept collapsing on him. LOL.

Weird that you think you have some moral high ground
Moral high grounds? WTF are you talking about?

ability so far stinks. Good runner but the way he plays the game he won’t last half the season. Rees as the OC won’t help.
I said I hope he gets ready.
unknown and Mincey looks the part but you really don’t want a true freshman starting QB.

If he comes to ND, we are getting a proven baller. We'd be lucky to have him!

Any other questions?

Again, he's not "bad" just not an upgrade. Headscratcher.

Point I was making is I'm not delusional enough to think those kids, especially at QB, would even want to come to ND. That's the proven reality to date. Maybe Freeman can change it. Maybe. Gotta prove he can develop kids first and then prove he can win.

2922 Stats
Hartman - 63.1% for 8.7 yards/attempt; 35TD-11 INT
Pyne - 64.6% for 8.0; 22-6
Caleb Williams - 66.1% for 9.1; 37-4
Looks good to me if he gets the INTs down.

to throw when the opposing D doesn’t respect your ability to throw, doesn’t expect you to throw, you have a ground game that can’t be stopped and you have Micheal Mayer you can just lock in on and throw to.
given they play in two completely different offenses. One passes quite a bit more and has a longer tenure but the trajectory of the other looks the same but actually has a much better winning % and at the moment against better competition (Pyne).

Don't know what was going on those 2 games, but in other 10 games combined he threw 5 INTs, so gotta think something wasn't right in those 2 games.

even?
Then after that do the eye check. I haven't seen much of Hartman yet, but from little I've seen he appears far superior in all areas, especially field vision.
He's not bad. It's just a whiff in the portal. IMO. Card was a much better risk/reward if you're going that route.

The difference between him and Pyne is night and day. Watch him now. His first drive was good.
the move IMO. We didn't gain a lot here other that 4 years of experience but if you look into the stats it's 20 TDs a year and we already get that. Not a big arm. mobile but he avg 2yds per carry. Nothing exciting.
Not sure. It’s not all about the QB. Our defense was horrible in several games.

But you have to give them a chance.
