Got to set up Tyree too on this and other formations, not just screens. Great play and great call.
probably doesnt score bec he's not the very fast. Hard runner, good vision but not the speedster Tyree is and I think Estime is actually faster. But the call was great and the hustle play on Styles was huge. Love that he showed his world class speed and caught both defenders and Diggs and guided him in.
Just really wish Tommy would learn to use guys' best abilities. Tyree is argubly the fastest RB in CFB, no reason for him not to get a dozen touches a game MINIMUM. CanNOT underscore how important it is to have home-run hitting plays bec plays that make it to the 5yd too many times end up in 3pts or as we've seen none or worse...6 the other way. Really need to negate that even happening by getting speedsters the ball in some capacity. Lenzy's contributions help ND win that game vs South Carolina. I'm convinced there have been close games vs teams with a little more speed that if ND featured their own speed the game may have been won. The last one I remember was vividly was when UGa came to ND and Dexter Williams didn't get one touch and Josh Adams was getting stuffed. It seemed obvious that the holes were there but closing faster than normal so Adams wasn't the right back for that game. Williams was and that may have been the difference in such a close game.
Either way, there's a lot of speed available on the this team coming this Spring and next season. Rees has to put the guys in the right position to be successful...Tyree use to kill on that counter play but all I've seen them do with him is run him right at the line. Not smart...get creative.
He’s had some drops and maybe 2022 wasn’t all he and us hoped it would be, but he busted his ass to get down there and block for Diggs.

There were many time he broke wide open over the middle or on the edge, but the QB never saw him for various reasons, or couldn't get the ball to him.

That was Kyren's incredible 91 yard TD. Avery just ran in front of the defender, slowing him down. Anyone remember?
