My worthless opinion….this coaching staff has no excuses next year
I don’t care if it’s only year two. MF better be on their asses if he isn’t already. Very few weaknesses on this team, if any. They need to set the tone early next year and just blow teams out. The talent and skill are there in almost every position.

Defense has a long way to go
1) There is no apparent pass rusher as good as Foskey.
2) No apparent inside defensive lineman as good as Ademilola.
3) Safety is a big question mark.
4) perhaps the same set of Lbs who rarely make impact plays.
That isn't to say that guys might emerge and take the next step but there are major questions marks at every defensive position group except perhaps CB.

In general, I get your point
Offense has come to rule football.
But there are always going to be those games (at least 2 every year) where the offense can't get out of its own way and needs a solid defense. I also think a solid defense allows the offense to take more risk when appropriate.
Agree. Offense should be much better next year, but could see the defense taking a step back.
This is how its been for ND for a while and why they can't quite put it all together in a single season.
