haters.
has more upside.
Hoping Buchner starts IF he wins the competition is what every ND fan should think.
But guess what, Hartman IS a ND player now like it or not, so if you don't have the same amount of hope that Hartman starts IF he wins the competition then you are biased.
hope proves to be true regarding Buchner. I have not changed my tune, I know what I meant. I think Buchner has more upside to lead as to a national championship and it went without saying that I hope he beats Hartman out. That said if Hartman is named the starter, I hope he completes every pass he throws, never fumbles and leads every drive into the end zone.
have SH.Just don't want to lose TB to portal.Plus I'm afraid of other schools negatively recruiting against ND.
,
You just want Buchner to start because we recruited him.
Hartman is a member of our team now too, you should get used to that and give him equal support.
Like it or not transfer portal IS a major part of recruiting now, better get used to it because if we don't use it to its fullest we will be left in the dust and might as well join the Ivy League.
I have my opinion who will win the competition, but my hope is they both stay healthy and both have equal opportunity to present their best selves in a legitimate QB1 competition that in the end leaves us with two healthy and viable QB options for the '23 season.
May the best man win (and both remain healthy).
It's weird that you have such strong feelings about who the starter should be though. Why wouldn't we just want a fair and thorough competition, and the winner of that competition to be named starter?

...as a back-up. Or vice versa...
I fail to see why any of this is an issue.
I just want there to be a legitimate competition. May the best QB win.
In his fifth season.

Maybe we could travel back to 1988, kidnap John Elway, and slap a gold helmet on him.
But what if that doesn't work, what should we do then?
