for his career progression. I thought it'd be the tried and true way (ie go to the MAC as a HC), but being the OC at a school like Alabama is probably a better role than that. So, I'm not hoping he'll leave; I hope he stays. I am in the minority who actually thinks he did a good job running a complicated offense that emphasized power running, as a complement to a defensively-led team and to de-emphasize weak QB play.

Maybe Saban looks at some of the things that us Irish fans want to ignore. Like the fact that whenever we play someone with average talent or better, are offensive and defensive lines seem to get abused. Stanford and Marshall both had their way with us, just to name 2 of the shittier ones. An offensive line BTW that was a "shoe in" to win the Joe Moore award. In addition to this, Do we ever pick up 3rd or 4th and one? Does that take a trick play by your OC or should a collection of 4 and 5 star lineman have enough push at the LOS for an Audric Estime to pick it up? Lots of excitement around the WR room with the recruits coming in, but this past season was an adventure at best. One regular starter had been overrated ever since he stepped on campus and the other hasn't done anything to prove he should even be playing division 1. Meanwhile the head guy continually told us at press conferences the three with the most potential and upside needed more reps, needed to build confidence in their game, and have the coaching staff build confidence in them. WTF is that all about? Let em' Ball, Geez. Enter Rees, who definitely has short comings at QB. Some of that by his own doing. But he did help manufacture enough offense to finish 9-4 and win a bowl game (seems like our first in 80 years). He did it with QB's with a combined maybe 2 college starts in their careers between them. Thanks a lot Coan. Point being, stop judging the poor bastard on the shortcomings of what HH and Stuckey contribute every time he looks at the play book. That's probably half the reason he's only got 12 plays to choose from. Bayou thought enough of him to offer him a pot of gold and he turned it down. Looks like Saban might do the same. He'll probably take it and we'll see what happens. Maybe Marcus will trust Parker's OC experience he developed at that powerhouse school in Morgantown.
You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit, and by the way, Nick Saban knows more than us.
