It was May, 2012, and Tommy was having a few suds with his buddies at an off campus party, when someone called the cops. Tommy was one of five to scale a fence and flee.
Now, Tommy was never fleet of foot and was the only one that got caught. He fought valiantly, though, kneeing a cop before he was sacked.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Carlo Calabrese, protested too aggressively, and was arrested, also. That prompted his famous line: "My people will get you."
The SBP were stunned. What did that mean? Was Carlo a made-man in a Jersey crime family who would have them wacked? Look at Carlo's mug shot and tell me you wouldn't be afraid if he came to your door when you were late on a juice payment?
Luckily, Carlo called off the dogs and Tommy's original felony charge was dropped to a misdemeanor, and their youthful indiscretions faded like a pass to Michael Floyd.
Tommy's now Alabammy bound. Saban has hired a deprogrammer to remove all vestiges of the Brian Kelly offense from his brain, and inserted an AI chip in his head. Nick's taking no chances.
But Tommy's happy now. He will make millions and be able to beat his old boss and tell him: "Get used to it, Purpleface!"

Love. I want to be here. National championship. I don't care that he's gone and I don't care if he has success at Bama. I do care about our players that are here and the success of our next OC. I have a feeling that Golden might be a short timer and I often wonder about MF too.
…….and an OC that can get good offers doesn’t take kindly to that.
The wing clip page would have been richly deserved btw.
Now he will go to Alabama, and he will accept the necessary clip page from Saban, because 1) Saban hired him whereas Freeman was never given that opportunity, and 2) He’s Saban, not a new coach.
This event could be good for all involved. It could be bad for us in recruiting potentially, but could also lead to better QB and WR talent as well. It could be very, very bad for Alabama whose offensive make up is really the opposite of ND’s.
Seemed like he was just saying what he was "supposed" to say. I don't believe Tommy has ever been in love with Notre Dame. Have you ever heard him talk about his recruitment and decision to come to ND? There's no sense of fondness in his voice when he talks about it.
