lambasted Tommy’s calling every FB weekend and between. Now he leaves for a better opportunity and better talent and the whining starts by the same folks. It’s time to prepare to rib apart any potential new hires!

It's probably a push.

I'll have to defer to that.

While Rees may have been a good choice as a QB coach at ND in 2017, he was woefully underqualified to get the OC job and only got it because no real, reputable, qualified OC would work for Kelly.
And it showed.
Rees would have been better served had he taken an OC job after his QB coach stint under an offensive oriented head coach and gotten exposure to other offensive systems.
Alabama may rack up lots of impressive offensive stats but that doesn't make Rees the offense-maven some think he is.
5 years from now, it will either be "holy cow" or "what was he thinking?"

We weren't going to get any better with Rees at the offensive helm. He was too predictable, and all too often, outsmarted himself. He kept killing many a promising drive by not listening to conventional wisdom, and trying to get too cute on many a play. Seriously, who else would call that stupid delayed handoff to Chris Tyree 5 yards deep in the shotgun snap on 3rd and inches?
Tommy Rees wasn't going to get any better here, since Brian Kelly wasn't here to prop him up.
