Grace will have the #1 lighted up again this week
ND lax flopped a couple weeks ago when they were ranked #1 and lost to Virginia. After running away from Syracuse last week, the Irish entered today's game #2 against #1 Duke. Not any more: the Kavanaugh rothers lit it up and the Irish won 17-12. Excellent showing, and there are few things in sports more satisfying than beating Duke.

If they can beat UVA and handle UNC twice, they will be the #1 seed.

The Hoopty becomes the Lax board after March Madness is over.
And as I've said on that board on at least one occasion, if Corrigan can't win with two Kavanaughs, he can't win period.

In fairness to ND fans, Corrigan has failed to deliver over and over and over again.
He's had plenty of talent and has built some outstanding regular season teams, but if he's failed in the playoffs. His inability to get some really great teams over the hump killed a lot of the interest in the team.
The other problem is that ND doesn't actually care about sports. Lax is a great sport, but ND is never going to promote it the was they need to. If it weren't for the ND FB players going to the UVA game, 95% of ND fans would have been aware that a game of the magnitude was even played.
