Best I've seen: R. Brooks, Bettis, Julius Jones, and Josh Adams (most underrated)

We don't know about Gipp, but Denson and Pinkett were incredibly productive. Hornung was the best.

Bettis and Watters were both great. Reggie Brooks was the best for one season. Prosise, Adams and Dexter had some great game breaking runs. Rocket was great in his limited role as a running back. God, I have to be forgetting someone. What about the great Nick Eddy?

Statistically Denson but my vote goes to Bettis. Loved Watters as well.

Both Denson & Darius Walker were special yet both lacked that 2nd gear that others (ie- Dex Williams) had.

Although not statistically, Ricky Waters was a game changer.

He also made a lot of clutch catches. Great receiver for a RB!

Don’t know about best ever, but best ever I’ve seen in a game was Reggie Brooks at SC in ‘92. I was there in person and it was special. I believe he was sick that day too.

He had 20 TD's in 1991, 12 more in 1992, and being the feature back, would have had some amazing stats in 1993 behind that line as well.

I still sometimes wonder how opposing teams would have hated us even more in 1993, had Bettis been the tailback, and Zellars blocking for him...

50 is untouchable. Fuzzy Faust ran Pinkett into the ground. Anyway, now it's RB by committee.

Allen Pinkett was a great player in college, and that 1983 season was one of those where all of those losses (with the exception of the Miami game) should have been wins with just even a bit more competence in play calling.

On another note, I don't entirely disagree with those remarks he made that got him in hot water. After all, there have been quite a few bad actors who were amazing players, that carried their teams. Nebraska had Lawrence Phillips, the big three Florida teams had more than their fair shares of shenanigans while winning all of those championships, etc., and those high performing thugs did make quite a difference on those championship teams.

I don't want such players at the Golden Dome, of course, but what Pinkett said has quite a bit of truth to it.
