A lot of them were promised the world in terms of $$$, as well as being told that they would be starters by the time they were sophomores, that they wouldn't have to switch positions, etc.
In Taylor's case, he got hurt in 2022, and didn't have an opportunity to climb the depth chart.
Overall, it's a lot like Urban Meyer's snake oil on steroids with the NIL money in play.
