Hits keep coming for highly ranked speed guys, definitely not good for recruiting.

But you’re right - ND is doomed. Shut the place down with Styles gone. Little chance that any program recovers from a blow like this. Game over - lights out.

Hardly a big loss.

He was a bust at WR, and just moved to corner as a junior behind underclassmen. At most he would be a ST player this season.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

It’s a loss in the sense that the guy looked fantastic as a frosh and then regressed in last

year’s QB shitshow. Our player development has issues.

It’s also not like we have amazing depth at the position.

You can downplay it but it’s a loss.

I see it as a loss, even if not at WR...

because if he panned out at CB he has the physical attributes to be a great one.

Now we might see him have a bright career at CB, just for someone else...I'd call that a loss.

Yup, OSU also isn’t taking him unless they think he will help.

He had a very good Fr year and regressed a little last year but 54 rec. 700 yds. and 4.3 speed isn't easy to replace, besides I think he would've flourished with Hartman and more usage of the deep ball in the offense this year. He played CB for one practice and ONE snap of the previous practice, that's hardly a move to CB.

Their down to 5 receivers (not counting walkons) that aren't freshman. Against this schedule and possible injuries they need as many receivers as can line up. Flores, Greathouse & James could be great but we won't know until real bullets are being shot.

As a fan, it's a big loss...

This was a kid that we all thought was going to be a difference maker after his freshman year. He underperforms last year, but I think many were hoping he would return to form with a better QB and possibly offensive play calling. So, the loss is a loss of expectations. It bothers me that we can't seem to get a true difference maker at key offensive skill positions.

Liberty is an opportunity for doing good, but only when it is also an opportunity for doing wrong...

He wasn't a WR any longer Einstein.

He had like a week of practices at both WR and DB

And suddenly he's not a WR? This is a big loss. I remember him thinking about taking off last off season too though and didn't have a great season last year.

I wish him the best and hope Colzie steps up big time!

Correct. And he Ohio State won't be taking him as a WR either. It would be at CB.

What do you disagree with. It's a fact that tOSU recruited him as a DB. That's why he came to ND.

The Buckeyes are loaded at WR and weak at CB. He won't be going there to play WR.

Some ppl don't know Football plain and simple and 54rec 700yds with 4.3 speed dont grow on trees and more importantly won't be looking to come to ND if they all keep transferring out!!

Thread Level: 5

Ummm, they moved him to corner for a reason.

Those receiving numbers are great and all, but there's a reason he was passed over and given a different opportunity to see the field.

Being a great athlete doesn't make someone a good football player or teammate.

I assumed he was hoping to improve his hands this spring, but reports consistently say that he hasn't. Then Flores and Greathouse apparently showed up looking college ready and the writing was on the wall.

I'm not sure why Styles moving on would affect recruiting at all. He got beat out, moved to a loaded CB depth chart, and finally decided he'll have a better chance to play elsewhere. That happens everywhere. Recruits aren't going to look at it and change their mind about ND football because of it.

Agree! His hands were suspect and it wasn’t due to a shitty QB
