This according to Chicago sports talk radio this morning. Some dude named Jay Hood ranting that no HBCU players were drafted. Great gosh almighty these sports media people want so much to be part of the scene.
best players with him to a non-HBCU school.
He got called out by other coaches and even players, now former colleagues dont even by his nonsense.
...in that God-awful rap song.

sent an army of scouts to their games. Today those players would have been at Alabama, Georgia and the rest of the SEC.

players to the NFL in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Now those kids play in the SEC. Jim Crow is dead!

And that guy has the smartest mind in football! He complained that they need to start drafting more HBCU guys last week. But why? No one can seriously claim that there is racial anti-black bias in the draft. (I take that back -of course they can, and undoubtedly will, but it would be untrue. Blacks are wildly over represented as a share of draftees in comparison to the black percentage of the general population. Managers want to win, and they take who will get them a winning team.
The truth is this - HBCU talent is much worse than it was in the bad old days. Back in the 60s, lots of black players
came to the NFL out of Grambling and other HBCU schools. They had many fewer opportunities at
predominantly white schools, so went to the HBCU, and NFL teams looked there for skilled players. Now, blacks
play and coach everywhere. Most don’t want life at an HBCU. So the talent is not there.
So racism is not what is happening in this case.
But, if folks couldn’t bitch about non-issues, what would
they do for an identity, or for entertainment?
there were no women or members of the LGBTQ community drafted and how this oppression must stop.
The media in this country never fails to fail.
The same holds true for Ivy League football players, players who are 3 years removed from high school but never played college football, etc. It's no secret that HBCU players are going to be, as a whole, inferior to what you'd see at the FBS level.
Show me an amazing HBCU player who has all of the NFL measurables, and I'm pretty sure he'll get a fair shake in the pros. The scouts generally know what they're looking for, and if he's any good, they'll giv ehim a shot.
This reminds me of the year that a lot of the usual politically correct complainers were screaming bloody murder over no African-American actors getting an award for one of those movie award ceremonies. In my opinion, there was one guy who should have gotten some (Michael B. Jordan for his role in "Creed"), but for the most part, there simply weren't any outstanding performances by Black actors that year.
come from. Heck, the Eagles a few seasons ago drafted a dude that played Australian rugby and had never played our type of football. Now the guy starts on the Eagles line. These jackasses always want to make it about race.

56.4%, according to Statista.
24.9% are White
10.5% are mixed race (which probably takes away from the Black percentage)
Oh yeah, 0.1% are Asian (not Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. Those guys command a 1.5% presence).
So, should the NFL penalize teams because there are 564 times as many Black players as there are Asian players? Why aren't the social justice champions screaming for Asian equality? ;)

wrong. If not stop then stop whining. E]vverything isn't slanted against people. This DEI stuff has gone too far and is creating more division than unity and most of it is pure wicked, evil, bs.
If they're good players and have talent, then they'll earn their way onto the roster, just like Ivy League players do.
In the meantime, HBCU's are FCS schools, and the number of draftees from FCS schools is pitifully low, simply because those kids weren't good enough to get into even the lowest FBS football programs.
