30 g/yr/athlete and 50% to women's sports? LOL that's a joke. Top players NIL now is millions.

this development push ND closer to or further away from needing to be in a conference? I’m beginning to feel as if conference affiliation is virtually inevitable.

As I recall the op-ed from Jenkins and Swarbrick, they have suggested ND would be in a division that

So maybe being in a conference within the new division?

Here's a link to a proposal no longer seeming outlandish: investors creating a super conference

There's a LOT to unpack there but now I'm getting my arms around it. Thanks.

I know it’s a radical idea, but make the athletic teams “club teams” if there is direct compensation. They have to follow guidelines set forth by the sponsor school such as code of conduct but the team is ran by a different administration who pays the players, oversees facilities and housing, etc. They control the financing with oversight from the sponsor school. There may be minimum academic standards in order to join and stay on the team, but in large part they are classes to support the business side of their athletic career. Players can certainly take other classes if they choose, but they won’t have the academic standards of the school to abide by. Maybe the club teams have a unified education plan.

I suppose CFB needs some sort of NFL type guardrails when it comes to player compensation.

I just cannot imagine the different colleges ever agreeing on a salary cap. Those who will pay almost anything to eilte players will not give up their advantage.

Devil’s in the details but if forced, the true FB schools will not go that route.

They’d rather have the $ run through close donors that be forced to spend half the money on everything other than FB.
