You can opt out of all bowls before selections are made, but you can’t selectively opt out after the fact.
Now how the powers that be would enforce things is another discussion
UCLA during COVID was the only exception I’m aware of.

Good thinking. Hurt the little guy vendors & workers who depend on this bowl income.
Waiters & waitresses, hotels workers of all kinds, parking attendants, Uber drivers, stadium personnel - from maintenance to custodians to concession workers and food / beverage suppliers. And, everyone in between that put in the hours unnoticed just for this game. But, FSU made a point that no one outside of Tallahassee gives a crap about.
They can just replace FSU with another team. That’s an easy fix
