In 1952 championship game of NIT back then
A premier tourney.
Know lots of UD parents.
Universally, they love the place. UD is known for its generous financial aid. I know that a few years ago - and this may still be the case - they guaranteed that tuition would remain the same for each incoming class' four years.
Lots of kids from all over. With respect to housing, over the years the university has bought up a sizable number of nearby homes, and manages those homes as part of student housing. It used to be known as 'the ghetto', but for obvious reasons the university wants to get away from the name. You have a huge 'off campus' community that is adjacent to the university.
UD sells out every basketball game. The city of Dayton adores UD basketball. Great bball arena and a terrific environment.
Great school. Nigel says - two thumbs up!
Both of my daughters in college received full rides to UD (my freshman chose Miami though). They lock in your tuition your freshman year and you never pay a dime more.
It's still called the ghetto but, obviously much more controlled and nicer than it was back in the day. They've bought up nearly every single home. Hundreds. It's a sizeable neighborhood.
On Basketball, there are 13k+ at every game. Even in the lean years. I remember road tripping with friends from ND back to Dayton for a few games because I always told them how great the atmosphere was. They were all very impressed and though the game experience was far superior to games in the Joyce.

Or whatever that school was. While we’re at it, get them back on the basketball schedule.

I don't recall when they changed the name. Legend says it was changed due to being a frequent target because they were Catholic.
Very good school. Cool student experience. What do you want to know?
East coast.
As I suspected, almost 9% from Pennsylvania. Around 4% from New York.

Philly seems to be one of the more common places. A lot of New Yorkers too.
He has close friends for life. Perhaps this could be said for most places, but these guys are extremely tight. They loved Dayton
