They've done so much for their image.

Have watched a lot of middle school and HS basketball over the last decade and generally speaking the girls are a lot more vicious than the boys.
The boys are physical, but there’s an understanding of the line and they usually don’t go over it when they do there’s an immediate something. in contrast, the girls are just hacking each other and physical way beyond what would be acceptable to the boys I don’t know if it’s because they’re less graceful or because they play under the rim but every time I go to a game I’m even now shocked.
just don't have the athleticism and body control to keep from looking clumsy. That is the reason the game is rough.
It has filtered down to college, HS, and yes, even youth sports. Everything, from idiotic chest thumping celebrations after tackles, first downs, TDs, home runs, & dunks to there is an "I" in "TEAM" attitude. College and pro sports has turned into the WWF or WWE or whatever it's called now. LA Dodgers, NFL, NASCAR, NBA are all the very reason for "Shut up and play". Get ready for the woke Super Bowl sports fans. Fans will bend over and beg for another no doubt. On a side note, we've had team brawls in my area during HS games that even involved the fans. Behavior learned then tolerated. Looking forward to watching a player who makes a simple tackle run 20 yards the opposite way to jive for 80k adoring fans. Good stuff.
I know I'm an old geezer but the posturing that coaches/announcers want to pass off " as the emotion of the game" is out of control.
I all good with celebration, but the whole defense running to the end zone to celebrate a turnover 50 yards away is wacko. A nice slam ducks elicits stomping and whooping to no end. The constant arguing with the NBA refs on every trip down the court is out of control.
It has crept into the college game. And the coaches seem to encourage this stuff. i.e the Maryland coach said “I thought [the ejection] was going to motivate us,” Frese said. “But it didn’t really rally us in any way."
Some of the coaches at the high school games here (Indianapolis) argue with the refs, literally, after every single call. And of course players, parents and fans follow along. But remember, you aren’t supposed to point out that they’re being assholes, they are being “unapologetically emotional,” etc. No wonder there is a shortage of young men who want to be officials.
One thing I give to MF, he behaves like a man, and is not a constant whiner to the refs.
by stealing signals, coaches cheating by recruiting when it's not allowed, school president and board members trying to intimidate the rules committee with lawsuit to prevent action before the cheating can pay off, school president and board members offering a contract finally that guarantees the cheating coach who wins a contract that pays him no matter what cheating ends up being revealed.....and there is more, but I grow tired.
Seems like the nasty strutting is going on in one place more than all others. Seems like a weak effort to say that it has "crept into sports in general", when it has crept into a place in particular.
Apparently, it’s easier and better to tell people how good you are yourself
