Tom Loy and Brian Dohn both predicted it after he attended ND's Junior Day.

Welcome to the family, Mr. Burress.
His film looks pretty good, and he snatches balls out of the air with strong, but soft hands.

Really good bloodlines but we need to wait on some of the bigger prospects! We can't keep piling up with guys because of bloodlines and "project" recruits over the more "Elite" guys then wonder why we don't have the depth to contend.

He's currently rated on 247 as an 89, which is the highest level of 3 star you can get, and he's still growing.
I suspect that his offer list is going to grow considerably from now until December. I'm a bit surprised, though, that Michigan State didn't offer him.

the number of kids we've gotten in on early when they were low ranked and none of the big boys wanted them, but they ended up highly ranked with all the big offers, is pretty impressive.
Now we just need to make sure if he blows up we can hang onto him.
I like him in that 2nd tier of guys though, but definitely a SOLID 5 I like better at the moment.
Namely, Mike Brown. There was a previous relationship there with him at Cincinnati. I'd add also that Denbrock has a history of successfully evaluating under-rated players (Stepherson, Fuller, Guyton, etc.). I assume Denbrock had to sign-off.
1. while I agree the WR position has been a mess, is one position enough to say that talent evaluation on offense isn't high level? Literally every other offensive position has been getting recruited at high high levels. Safety hasn't exactly been killing it on defense.
2. As you pointed out, the coach for that position has been replaced and a higher volume of high level guys have been seemingly recruited/interested since then.
3. A deeper look reveals exactly why the WR room is a mess, and while things haven't been fixed yet in Freeman's first two years, those two years aren't what caused the problem. If you look at the WRs brought in the 3 years prior to Freeman vs 3 years since, it's pretty obvious higher caliber guys are being brought in (although bringing in only 1 WR for 22 when we needed 3 minimum is on him/Suckey).
19-21 WRs - (19) Kendall Abdur-Rahman, Cam Hart (20) Jordan Johnson, Xavier Watts, Jay Brunelle (TR) Ben Skowronek (21) Deon Colzie, Lorenzo Styles, Jayden Thomas
22-24 WRs - (22) Tobias Merriweather (23) Braylon James, Jaden Greathouse, Rico Flores, Kaleb Smith (TR) Kaleb Smith (24) Cam Williams, Micah Gilbert, Logan Saldate (TR) Jayden Harrison, Beaux Collins, Kris Mitchell
I'm wondering how much input he has had in the recruiting aspect since he came on so late to the party.
significant changes to the WR board. I think Burris fits at least part of the Denbrock mold. Good route runner and can run after the catch. A player like him should be able to get open on crossing routes without having to be "schemed" to get open. I guess we'll see how he develops.
Now I'd like to see a couple of highly rated guys sign. You can't just load up on under the radar guys no matter how good of an evaluator you are.
He has only had one year of significant football playing, 25 catches, 5 TD, 434 yards in his junior year.
I stand by what I said earlier, that if he has the kind of season I think he'll have as a senior, he'll get that 4th star and many more offers.

I like Hines, Terry, RVB and possibly Burress in 2nd tier of Prospects. In the 3rd tier I can see Bettis, Newkirk and Costner.

I believe we're recruiting Taylor as an ATH but I think Meadows, Cyrus, Taylor and Porter should be the primary focuses at WR. Of course, you have a guy like Bettis who would come on board as well.
