It's almost always a good indicator of your program if your assistant coaches are getting higher level positions. It usually shows that the head coach made some good decisions in terms of the right personnel and that those former assistant coaches are getting better.
If they aren't, then they're usually either on the chopping block because of bad results or head coaching foolishness, and / or they've reached their plateaus as coaching material (whether it be in a good way or bad way). Joe Moore, for example, wasn't going to take a head coaching position anywhere, but was still one of the best line coaches in the nation when that ninny Bob Davie fired him.
Mickens would be a bigger loss.
I wonder how that changes with Golden staying.
