As a starting quarterback, he compiled a 20-3-2 record while throwing for 4,411 yards and 31 touchdowns. Joe set school records for passing yards in a game (526), yards in a season (2,429), and touchdowns in a season (16). Theismann had a 15-year professional career, 12 of which were spent with the Washington Redskins. In 1982, he led the Redskins to a Super Bowl victory. The next year he became the league's MVP.
Gatewood set many receiving records, many of which were not broken until at least 30 years later. During his career he had 157 receptions for 2,283 yards and 19 touchdowns. In 1970, he was a consensus All-American after a then school record 77 receptions for 1,123 yards.[1] The record was broken in 2006 by Jeff Samardzija who had 78.[2] His 157 career receptions were also a record until 2006 when both Samardzija and Rhema McKnight broke it. Gatewood still holds the record for the most catches per game in a season with 7.7.[3]

Poor TB retires and is already being replaced.
At least Joe Montana held the title for several years.

obviously.
Rocket at WR/RB/Special teams are on it, that is good for me. I won't get picky on the rest of the list.

are you born in early 80's?
…I would put Kyren Williams, Julius Jones, and Audric Estime we’re all quite a bit better than Autry Denson.
Yeah, a list of defensive linemen without Ross Browner is missing arguably our best guy of all time.
I'd also add Mike Stonebreaker (1988 version) to that list of linebackers. In 1988, Stoney was almost unblockable, and could run with almost any receiver, while laying down some pretty thunderous hits. If he had entered the draft that year, he would have been a 1st round pick for sure.
His amazing football IQ was even better than his physical attributes, which is what made him, in my opinion, one of the best of all time.
That awful car wreck in 1989 that cost him the season, broke his hip, and mangled his knee. This sapped away a lot of his speed and lateral quickness, as well as his hitting power, but in 1990, he was still our best linebacker due to his amazing mind. He knew exactly where to be and when to be there for most plays, and despite his 5.0 speed in the 40, came up with many critical defensive plays for us. He easily made the difference in the Michigan and Michigan State games.
Heck, he even survived a couple of seasons in the NFL with the Bears before those injuries probably became too painful (he was one tough SOB).
