RJ Oben, Rylie Mills, Howard Cross and Jordan Botelho on the defensive line. Kiser, Bowen and Sneed at linebacker. Morrison, Watts, Mickey and Shuler at defensive back.
Not bad.
This group doesn't have a Te'o or Jaylon Smith in the middle, or a pass rusher in Foskey, or even a swiss-army-knife like Hamilton.
The strength is the back end with Morrison and Watts, but games are won and lost up front and it is always best to have game wreckers making plays in the backfield.
Just curious if you think talent and scheme can overcome the lack of a dominant player upfront on D, or do you think there are game wreckers on this Defense that will take the next step? (maybe Cross, Mills, Sneed?)
Maybe the “game wrecker” has to be whomever has the weakest opposition on any given Saturday?
The game wreckers up front are still unknown. Some of them need to make a move in April.
that is a big jump from backup to elite player in one off season. Only Sneed and Burnham (from the group) have a chance to start, both have shown flashes but it would be a big jump for them to perform like Te'o and Jaylon. But I could be wrong.

I don't know if it was personalities or coaching... but they were tough even though not as athletic as Georgia.
