Good luck.
I'm somewhat surprised he didn't go to Vanderbilt. He would have fit in well over there as a field cornerback, with Clark Lea's defensive scheme.

In 2020, while playing in a read and react scheme, he did a decent job as a true freshman at the FCB position. Clark Lea's defensive scheme is a conservative defense, and Lewis was actually a pretty good fit that year.
When he was put in the boundary CB position in 2021 in a more aggressive scheme, this produced disastrous results, and he never recovered his mojo after getting shell shocked.
Having Kyle Hamilton out there to cover up his mistakes is the only thing that saved him, and when Hamilton opted out of the Fiesta Bowl, he was badly exposed as you correctly pointed out.
I don't dispute your statement that he was terrible in 2021 (and beyond). It was simply too much to ask of him to do, to step up to be the main man at the cornerback position.
He didn't get toasted, he got incinerated.
He earned a spot as one of the three worst CBs in ND football history, along with the two Highway #15s, the immortal Clifford Jefferson and Preston Jackson.

Last I heard about him, he was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16 year old.
...a single down at the D2 school I played at!!

He was our only TD scorer during that 2007 Penn State game on an INT return for a TD.
Also, he ended up playing 5 seasons in the NFL, starting 16 games.

......walk back to South Bend after that game.

I'm surprised he didn't have a stroke during those first five years.
