the closest thing we had to an unknown player having a surprise blow up performance was Kahanu Kia. But I do think he could be a player for us down the road, just not this year.

he's the closest thing to it this year, but I'm not sure he's even a real good candidate.
Led team in tackles and made some big hits...surprising because he's been out of football for two years on a mission and we really didn't hear much about him from the Spring, but other than that nothing really stands out.
A great day, but doubt he will see the field this season though.
Leonard gets hurt..Angeli is ineffective...Carr is taking snaps.

to never be heard from again.
Not only is Carr not an unknown, he didn't even have the best stats among his position group. He didn't win the MVP and while his talent stood out there was nothing he did that jumped out as a surprise.
Then there is the other element...if you think Carr is a player that will never be heard of again, I have some nice beachfront property for you here in North Texas. While I'm sure they will try to redshirt him this year (unless something goes terribly wrong), I'd be willing to bet they are going to get him as much playing time as they can without burning the redshirt.
Think Northern Illinois, Navy, Army and depending how the season goes possibly in a bowl game.
Keep him as starter for next 2 years he may go pro. Also won’t stay more than 4 total
