You should HAVE remained silent.
time didn't help either. Don't think he goes before 5th round. Could be wrong. Staying another year would have helped his stock.
I think he did the right thing for himself. Kudos to him.
What I don’t get is how he is not looked at as a second day draft pick. ESPN has him at #10 RB behind Ray Davis from Kentucky,,,what!!???! who???!
I would take AE over Corum any day. He is going to be a steal for some team

His NIL package for 2024 could have been sizable. Perhaps what he would make as a lower round draft choice.
If he had stayed he would have a shot at being a first round pick in 2025.
A Heisman and NC would have been additional possibilities.
A first round rookie contract in 2025 would dwarf what he'll get this year.
Yes, injury is a factor. So is family situation.
I think he probably made a good decision to enter.
But I think it was close.
Of course, we all wish him good heallth and success.
Was he going to suddenly run a 4.42 40 if he stayed another year? ...because that's what he'd have to do to get into the first round and not at ND Pro Day, at the actual combine.
The Combine is a show for revenue.
Many teams use it as a supplemental and not primary evaluation.
The Steelers for example have proclaimed that their primary evaluation is based on film.
Game speed. Pads on. .Strength and speed under duress and duration.
Mental quickness.
Jerome Bettis did not run past people.
He was the 10th pick in the draft. A Hall of Famer.
You are entitled to your opinion.
of going in the first round without a 4.42 40.
I said I thought it was good Idea he entered the draft.
But it was a judgement call.
He certainly has no chance at an exceptional rookie deal this year.
2025 might have been a different story.
I said he had a shot at a 1st round pick.
Never said he was a sure thing.
You’re obsession with the 40 time is kinda funny.
BTW, Mr. Know it all, Omar Khan and former GM Kevin
Gilbride are personal friends of mine.
Stay in your lane.
And even if they were, Estime would never be one.
if he could run faster than 4.55 at his "playing weight" or get down in the 4.45-4.49 range at his leaned down combine weight, then he might get into first round in the right year.
Also for as jacked as he looks, 23 reps with 225 is good but not great. Heck I'm in the 21-23 range right now depending on the day and I'm an old man.
Depends on need and system.
McCaffrey and Barkley were top 10 within the last 7 years. It can happen.
you continue to show what a babbling idiot you are, despite being on the inner circle with your claimed GM besties.
If Estime could go in at his 235ish playing weight and run a 4.52, he might sneak into the first round in the right year. But instead he trimmed down to 221 while training exclusively for the draft (even skipping our bowl to get a head start on that) and dropped a 4.71. Anyone with an ounce of understanding of how the draft works knew his stock plummeted right there.
You keep saying I'm obsessed with the 40...I'm NOT, but I do understand that most in the NFL draft circle are.
You might get this if you didn't have your head so damned far up your own ass.
Not that it makes a difference.
The 40 is not the be all you make it out to be.
Please notice that I am able to post civilly.
Try it.
I didn't say anything about if he should have or shouldn't have gone.
I commented on only one part of your post...I challenged you specifically on saying he could have been a first round pick if he stayed another year, because that is complete bullshit.
You don’t know crap about how NFL GM’s think.
It’s about production relative to their offensive scheme.
Whether or not Estime could be a 1 in 2025, it is highly likely his rookie deal would be better in 2025.
You can’t disprove that based on a 40 time.
Get yourself an NFL GM’ s job and get back to me.
Have the last say. Thanks for the laugh.
Surely you're in the know on such things. With the name dropping of close friends who are GMs you must be part if the inner circle...clown ass.
Terms like “ass clown” have no effect on adults.
Be better dummy.
But I don’t hurl childish insults at you.
You are a know it all internet tough guy who looks to belittle
people that you disagree with. That’s not adult.
I am laughing hysterically at your obsession with the 40 time.
It’s not the be all and end all that you suggest it is.
I’ll trust my sources.
I don’t think you have their gravitas.

These things can be somewhat cyclical. When it is time to pay a second contract or extend their top RB contracts they look for cheaper talent with less miles. McCaffrey snd Saquon were both top 10 picks. But they are pricey.
I personally think Audric’s value is getting those tough 3rd down short yards and controlling the middle with 8, 10, 12 yard runs.
I think he will be a tremendous value. But underpaid.
and very few in the past 5 years plus RBs get hurt a lot more than other positions

One ACL and he's probably never drafted.
Unfortunately, RB (and TE) aren't considered top of the draft priorities anymore. Few are selected high, but second day picks are often stars in the league... so I think Estime still has a chance to make his mark in the NFL if he goes to the right team.
I'd have loved to have him back, but for his sake, he needed to go pro. RBs have a limited shelf life, especially pounders like him. He proved himself at ND, it's time for him to go earn his paycheck in the pros.

He showed he could run for power, speed, and that his passing game attributes were solid.
Since he had nothing left to prove, it only makes sense to go pro early, especially given that running backs have the shortest shelf lives in the NFL.
I doubt he would have helped his draft standing by staying for his senior year. The NFL teams prefer that running backs have lower mileage on their tires, especially seeing how Ron Dayne turned out (very heavy workload in college for all 4 years).
The running back stable for 2024 looks to be deep and talented, and with two very talented freshmen, we're in great shape.
On where he gets drafted.
Not sure that would be a great reason to stay though. And a guaranteed multi year deal Beats 1 year NIL and gets him 1 year closer to a second contract
Like you said it was his best option.
