Cordelli makes some interesting observations about ND. I agree with them.
Especially his potshot at Swarbrick.

"College coaches will call recruiting services and tell them that they need them to ‘bump this guy up from a two to a four because I get a bonus for every four-star or five-star that I sign,’” said Cordelli. “There’s kickbacks going on all over the country on that stuff. There was a guy on the Alabama staff that made no bones about it. ...
Cordelli added that an Alabama staffer bragged about getting a Rolex watch because of his ability to get recruiting services to bump up ratings on players that he signed."
Not saying stars don't matter at all but when I see a guy showing as a 3 or 4 star but has offers from everyone...
I posted the quote from a coach to prove it's mostly a sham, and he happens to be at one of the best in the business places (Alabama), to know how it all works.
I agree with your point that offers are a bigger tell than stars.
I don't think all stars are inaccurate but the problem is, if you know many are bogus and for sham reasons not from poor evaluations, it tarnishes the whole thing.
Attributes, offers and film tell the true story.
they were great recruiters
