Duerson and Zorich were both all over Chicago TV and radio at the time airing their complaints. And here we are 20 years later with exactly the right man for the job.
though he got the shaft.
but we're not quite to the point of knowing he's exactly the right man for the job yet.
I think that was made pretty clear. Not everyone was down with hiis firing. That is my point. Take it up with them. In fact, IMO, Duereson and Zorich went a bit overboard in their complaints at the time. You have your opinion on Marcus and I have mine. He has shown that he has grown into the job quite nicely and is doing everything in his power to improve this program. I'm glad he's our HC and I do believe he will get us there.
because they didn't understand how shitty he was. So what?
Were any of them still sounding off when he went 0-12 at Washington...yeah, I don't think so.

Next time you run into Brady, Rocket, or Zorich, let them know how you feel. Until then, relax, pour a drink, it will all be OK.
because I just don't give a shit.
My post wasn't directed at Chandra Johnson or any of the other super cool people you mentioned...they are perfectly entitled to their opinions, as incorrect as they might be.
My post was directed at our resident STD DonMiller, who I indirectly called board herpes, for posting some random thought that popped in his head from over 20 years ago that nobody on this board gives a shit about.
Seeing how his career took a nice upswing once Lionel was gone, and to the tune of millions of dollars, I would think that Lionel is little more than an afterthought at this point.
Who gives a shit?!?
He , with a few other Irish players, went to a mosque with Ryan Harris when Ryan became a Muslim. Just to show support for a teammate and classmate and friend. Again, BQ being a good leader and teammate. I met TW a couple of times and he was a really friendly individual. BQ knew TW as a ccoach and mentor and had to develop a bond, win or lose. That doesn't mean Brady didn't care about winning ball games. The point is, there were Irish players who did not support the firing of Tyrone, whether some of us like it or not.
...reasons at the time...whatever they were.
I actually started posting on this board just to vent because I did not believe the University would fire Tyrone due to PR backlash...and I was adamant that they should.
He was a poor coach on the field and was openly shirking his recruiting responsibilities.
Pleasantly surprised when they let him go...since it seemed they had a shot at Urban then. Oh well.
in ty's 3rd year it was so obviously over, records be damned, that was far and away the most uninspired football I recall being played by an ND team.
I had zero hope they would fire him because of the 5 year contract...so little I wasn't even bitching about because it seemed pointless.
