Trips to campus, they always talk about how they met with admissions and other academic people.
We can’t be the only school that does that. I would have to think there are a lot of recruits not interested in ND that are interested in academics at other schools.
I think it’s great that academics set us aside from most competitors but there has to be a significant number of schools tout there strong points too. Assuming recruits are interested.

Makes it seem like we are the only ones that do it. It’s mentioned so often is almost arrogant to me. We aren’t the only school u can succeed after football. We are right at the top of the list but it’s done to make ND appear like it’s the only place u can get 4 for 40.
I am proud of my education and I chose the right place for me. But the conception that it’s the only place for that education puts me off.

It's not about "The School" it's about "The Football Program".
Not getting the education piece is NOT an option at ND, while it is an option at virtually all of the big boy football programs.
A kid who has the self discipline to still do their school work while everyone around them is banging the program hookers, wrecking lambos, and skipping class, can get a great education at almost every college in America.
But the big boy football programs are not holding their feet to the fire to get their degree (they only care that they stay eligible) and they certainly aren't holding out star players from playing just because they aren't on pace to graduate in 4 years.
They aren't the same. Don't try to pretend they are.
Is the only place like that.
A lot of football players get quality education and degrees at a lot of schools. I would even bet there are some very successful Alabama and Ohio st football alum. See Marcus freeman for 1.
Overall ND does a far better job over the entire football program for football and education. It gives the best opportunity for both football and education but on an individual level I think this can be found in more places that one thinks.
I think that’s the part that gets lost.
and Duke, Stanford, BC, etc. ND's football program is way better than Duke's, Stanford's, BC's and that same etc. Plus, our football tradition is what helped players recognize our educational map.
Program wise ND does the combo better than anyone. But it’s not limited to ND for an individual success story for any 1 student athlete
Ultimately that’s my point.
seems a bit like Bama not emphasizing all their recent Natties when talking to recruits or FSU not emphasizing all their hotties.
It seems to me that you are the one disrespecting other institutions. Do you really think these other institutions would hide any academic—or any other—successes they could trumpet? Do you think they would avoid highlighting anything that would place them in a positive light just because it might hurt someone’s feelings? Do you really think that the University of Notre Dame is the first institution that should come to mind when you think of negative recruiting?
If others have chosen to present themselves in a specific way, why don’t you give them the benefit of the doubt that they are not complete dolts and have chosen to do so for a reason? Furthermore, how do you know that they are not pitching their own variations of 4 for 40?
