As good of a year as 2012 was, 2013 had the potential to be on the same level, or even better.
Had Everett Golson been simply suspended for the opening game (as it would have been at most places), there's no doubt that year would have been good enough to make it a BCS Bowl team, and even a fair chance the team could have gone undefeated during the regular season.
That defense was actually very good, and had the unfair distinction of having to carry the slack, since the offense fizzled out all too often, especially against teams that simply played an 8 man short zone.
I'm also pretty sure that Mr. Purpleface is still sour about his lost opportunity that year, and how the powers that be wouldn't cover things up for him.
