Smith Jr. had a really nice season in 2018, coming up with 44 receptions. 710 yards, 7 TD.
He got drafted in Rd 2 and has had some solid numbers as a pro.

endzone!
I remember watching that live in 1991 not believing what I was witnessing.
When you have your TE1 (Derek Brown) and TE2 (Irv Smith) both being 1st round draft picks, a highly underrated Oscar McBride in the wings, that says it all.
Unfortunately, developed depth on the front 7 on defense, especially on the line, killed us.
I still wonder how that 1991 squad would have done if three things would have swung our way:
1) George "Boo" Williams didn't get kicked off the team
2) Rocket comes back for his senior season
3) Eric Jones doesn't get that career-ending ankle injury thanks to an Air Force chop block
Vinny Cerrato did his job & then some.

came to almost all of the Subway Alum functions in the area. I imagine he did the same yeoman work all over the country. He only missed on two guys from our area Dwayne Johnson (the rock) Miami and Sean Love Penn State. The rest of the top talent in our area he signed for Notre Dame!
When he left after the 1990 season, and joined the San Fran 49'ers org as a scout, he's the guy who brought in many of the perennial Pro-Bowlers through the draft, including Bryant Young and Ricky Watters, along with Merton Hanks, Dana Stubblefield, William Floyd, Lee Woodall, etc.
The man had a great eye for talent, plain and simple.
