became my first big time hero in 1966. Hanratty was highly underrated and he was loved by both his ND and Pittsburgh Steeler teammates. With a little luck he could have done as much as Bradshaw because he had a solid, accurate arm and a better brain. He would have been surrounded by great teammates which he was not when he first came up. Bradshaw had eye popping physical attributes and that is why he was given the job, but his career might have gone on a lesser course if the Immaculate Reception hadn't occurred. That play was another time the Raiders got screwed by the refs and I am not a diehard Raider fan. Well, other than the Casper days. The tuck rule was another bullshit call or rule they had which if it was the rule was ridiculous. If the Raiders won that one we would have all been hoping "it's Gruden."

At halftime of my game, my dad told me what had happened at the ND game. I was so upset and angry that I couldn't focus on the second half of my game. ND winning was more important than my game. That day began my severe dislike for everything USC.
