Defer, defer, defer...I love getting ball first in second half when you have an idea
how the game is unfolding. Plus it opens possibly of getting back to back possessions/scores to end/begin the halves.
Plus, plus...defenses being jacked up to start the game can be a benefit while being too jacked up on offense can throw off execution.

If they win and defer and ND goes on Defense, that would be legendary. I have only seen that happen once that I am aware of. However, that would send a message of no confidence to the O.

Defer definitely. More experienced defense first in hostile environment. Shut them down and
take pressure off the offense on their first series. Might quiet the crowd a little if a 3 and out or turnover.
Assuming weather is not a factor (i.e. rain/wind) I would always defer

The crowd will be insanely loud. Make them tone it down so they can hear their own signals. If our D can quiet them further, then that is a good start.
