After all, it was Lionel Tyrone Willingham's last season, and despite the 20-17 score, it really wasn't that close, especially with our getting a total of 11 rushing yards despite having decent o-line talent at the time...

I don’t think other teams want to play big out of conference games mid season.
Rather get them over early. And a loss week one won’t kill u out of conference. We don’t hold all the keys in these arrangements.
The ACC teams don’t get a choice against us.

OSU didn't have a tune up either, and we blew that game. Still drives me bonkers that we let that victory slip away.

Opening games have been very kind to ND.
Barely beating two win SDST was a near catastrophe and 5-7 USF was a catastrophe. We have a nice roster. A coaching staff to emvy. If ND cannot win a game like this then perhaps lower expectations for this program and staff are in order. There is absolutely no reason we can't go into College Station confident of a solid win.
Amen. This is not Lombardi’s Packers we are playing. It’s a historically just-above-average program.
If we can’t win these games, with ND’s staff, resources, talent, we do not belong in the conversation.
