get position on the square in patterns. He seems to be the receiver a lot when a defender cuts in front. Almost happened against A & M and i thought when Buchner threw an interception one time with him as the attempted receiver that he did not box out well that time. What do you guys think?
like a TE, meaning less nimble WR but better movement, speed and catchability than an average TE.
yeah, he's not fast and nimble like a smaller WR, but he's not slow and clunky either.
My take is that he doesn't use his size advantage at WR very well, so moving him to a position where he'd be undersized probably doesn't translate well.
I say work on teaching him to use his size advantage better. On the ball that was almost intercepted, if he works back towards the ball (instead of just standing still) and uses his body to shield the defender from the ball, it's an easy completion instead of near interception.
A good WR with bad body skills likely has a better chance against an LB than a CB. Worst case he gets the weakest DB for most part when the other team goes with 5 DBs.
At this point it wouldn't hurt any more than flipping Watt from WR to Safety, moving Ford from RB to DB, and Tyree from RB to WR. You never know. He's not a bad WR by any means, he does seem to perform less than his skillset looks like it should.
to translate to using his body size well as the smaller man. Just my two cents.
To each his own. It may or may not work, just a thought.

a college male Defensive Back?
Those are the guys he's currently not using his size well against...it's almost a 'wishing upon a star' type deal, to think a guy not using his body size well against DBs will be better at this when going against LBs.
body well to box out the defender.

I could see him lining up as a "TE" in more obvious passing downs but unless ME doesn't come around injury wise, we have fine at TE.
You'd basically be sitting a really good player for the rest of the season.
