Good to see him involved.
It must not be easy to do what he is doing after falling so far down.
He was a starting QB at Notre Dame, even winning a tier two bowl (Gator Bowl) against a decent opponent, and will be graduating from the Golden Dome. He'll also have a lacrosse championship in his list, even if it were just as a partial contributor.
No, he didn't reach the vast potential that a lot of us thought he had (including myself), but in the end, he'll have earned at least two varsity letters with ND, one with Alabama under Nick Saban, and will have a bright future ahead of himself with a ND degree in hand.
He also has a reasonable head on his shoulders. If he honestly thought that being a pro football QB were in the cards for him, he would have transferred to a much lesser program, become the starter, and then thrown his name in the hat. Instead, he's thinking about life after football, something that many football athletes don't do early enough.
I'm proud to call him a fellow ND alum, and know that he'll represent the Golden Dome very well wherever he ends up.
his chances for a great life have increased markedly. God Bless him for his effort and a return to a place he truly loves.
Who do you think is having a more enjoyable season, Buchner or DJ U?
