upset me. They all play 4 to 5 games that are almost 50/50?
That’s how the conference as a hole always gets rated high.
Yes they are probably the toughest conference out there, esp the top half. However, for the last 15-20 yrs the top two to three teams at the start of each season have fairly consistently run the conference table, typically loosing 1 or fewer games. If they all have 4-5 50-50 games surely the known to teams would have more losses.
They are like most conferences with an array of team strengths….. the top teams are expected to beat the good, but slightly lesser teams and most often do.
That's the ranking after week 1.
Let's see what the ranking is after NIU..or Miami of Ohio...or Stanford...or Navy...or Army...or....
