It's a fair ask. It's also fair to ask if they'll continue to hire people who have no major head
coaching experience, or for that matter any real track record coaching at a high level. It would be equally fair to question why ND has such a poor strategy in place to actually find a suitable candidate. Lets not even get into doing a reasonable background search on candidates.

He was "right guy" in terms of ease of hiring.
He was low-hanging fruit and ND never actually did a formal coaching search
This time around, I'm sure they'll go to the trouble of throwing darts at a list of football coaches.
