Serious question: Why do so many choose to ignore the obvious issues and hype up really bad choices?

1. Choosing Golson over Rees
2. Wimbush over Book
3. Bringing in Coan
4. Choosing Buchner over Pyne
5. Bringing in terrible (stats where supportive of bad) Sam Hartman
6. Passing on Angeli
7. Bringing in Leonard (stats proved he was bad), history showed he can't pass
8. Believing the Denbrock hype when he has only 2 years (with a special QB) of looking great.
9. Do this many adult men still believe in Santa Claus? I'm starting to think so.

And those are just the players, what about the coaching hires over the years....

Faust (no coaching experience in CFB or NFL, only high school) Total disaster.

Davie (only experience as DC & his defenses were good but were never elite)
Davie doesn't retain Joe Moore & OL play goes to shit
Davie hires Jim Colleto & Kevin Rogers (even though Urban Meyer was on his staff & begged for the OC job)

Hiring Willingham instead of Gruden

Hiring Weis (again, only experience as a coordinator)

Hiring Freeman instead of Luke Fickell (I forgot the exact reason, but a bunch of people said ND couldn't wait for Fickell as his team was in the playoff that season & if we did, we'd lose out on an amazing recruiting class. Recruiting class was not even top 10
