This is as much about coaching and preparation than anything. There were dropped balls

And mistakes, but this is all on freeman and denbrock. Any competent offensive play and we win. It might have been tight but we win.

The seeds for this were planted when they ‘recruited‘ a transfer QB who can’t throw the ball to a program that desperately needed a down field passing attack

That is not Leonard’s faults. It’s the adults in the room making a boat load of money to not let this happen again.

I am wondering how loosey goosey practice was all week leading up to the game.

MF claims he didn't even know who we were playing next during the A&M post game presser. Did he give this NIU game the old Carnagie Tech routine? There was talk last night on the radio post game show that players were actually interacting with fans DURING the game. Even the team entrance onto the field was far far below what you would think the first home game of the season after a huge win should be. Enough so that a fan sitting in front of me turned around and asked us if we all had seen that. All the cache that was earned beating A&M has been lost. Marshall, 13 men on the field, NIU are all reminders that home field advantage is not a real thing for ND and it's not the fault of the fans, young or old. We can go back even farther with these ridiculous losses. Fans can't control the Xs and Os. All we can do is vent. All these post game autopsies of the loss with coaches and players are nothing more than cliche' festivals so I'm not sure what will be learned this week. You think it was bad watching it on TV, it was even worse being there. The boos and fan unrest were real. I'm still with our guys. They are not getting rid of me that easy.

What do you mean they were interacting with fans?

That sounds fucking odd.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

The post game radio show was commenting that players were talking to fans sitting behind the bench.

This during the game. I can't corroborate and the post game guys couldn't either as of last night, but word got to them that it was happeining. If there is anything to it, maybe one of our ace reporters can ask MF about it but only after doing some research into the claim.

The ND beat seems a little annoyed they were told they can no longer ask about injuries post-game.
