It was 2nd and 1. All ND needed was a few more first downs and the game is over. Worst case you punt
And make them go further than they needed to.
And don’t have Noodle Arm Leonard throw a deep ball.
He doesn't really have a noodle arm but I think he got hurt early in the game and it caught up with
him on that throw. That being said with 2 and 1 from the 49 just live and die with the running game and Love. Worst case they have to drive the length of the field after a punt, with little time.

He had a huge opening underneath and it was still 15 to 20 yards down the field. If he threw it to
that guy he probably gets to at least the 20.
My point is if we had an offense that was capable or not held back by a coach’s decision

Freeman made the decision to bring Leonard here. I would have benched him at halftime.
Maybe they were conservative because Leonard can’t throw the ball downfield. Then if that is the case, then Freeman should have super ultra-conservative at 2nd and 1.
