Rice actually had 8 passing TD's in 1988

He had some good passing moments, especially in the Fiesta Bowl, where he and Derek Brown were unstoppable.

Also he also had his first passing TD in 1989 by the 2nd game of the season against Michigan. Everyone thought we were running the ball up the middle, and he soft-tossed a 6 yard pass to Anthony Johnson for a TD. I can't quite remember who the only other passing TD went to during the entire year... None of our WR's or TE's caught a passing TD that season.

Those type players make your passing stats better for sure. Plus a great offensive line.
