That's what Tennessee is going to do to their fans starting next year.
There will be a 10% bump on all sports tickets known as a "talent fee."
Oh, and by the way, there will be an extra 4.5% tacked on for football tickets.
Enjoy the game, suckas!
I want ND to compete at the highest level.
I want the very best for ND student/athletes, and that includes compensation!
Come on, people pay for all kinds of stupid stuff pumpkin spice lattes, tattoos, Mickey Mouse crap, etc.
don’t you want ND to be the very best? That’s not worth $10? Come on?!?!
I think there should be “donation boxes” at the stadium & JACC, the pocket change will addd up.
I’d also like to see the round up option at the bookstore & ND family establishments, like Rocco’s, Martin’s, Linebacker, Belmont where you you can round up your bill total to support the collective.
The mother Teresa days of college sports is over, like Gretzky skate to where the puck is going..” we aren’t going back to 1975.
It’s a brave, new opportunistic world! Lean into it. Fortune favors the bold!
Be the Yankees, not the white sox!

It's not the ticket cost per se (although that has already gotten too high). I preferred college to pros (which I also watch much less frequently) and never wanted to see college become that.
I (long ago) personally favored more enforcement to help bolster STUDENT-athletes. Less games, etc. A true NFL minor league for players who wanted to hone their skills but who did not want to pretend to study and attend class. The new system is going from sucks to even worse every day ($1,000,000 for Riley Leonard?)
$$$ win out, per SOP, but I am losing more and more interest by the day...
own team. College ball will never be boring to us because we compete with the best and we have a reasonable shot at being the best of the best college teams. IVY League equivalent, who the hell cares and no TV coverage probably. Doesn't that tell you something?
...where this is going.
Multi-millionaires not attending any classes, cruising in their lambos, and holding "freak offs" at their off-campus rooftop pads?
It will become so seedy that a Catholic university, that used to take great pride in the Football graduation rate, will have to get off at one of the exits.
I get that you don't like it. I don't like it...though maybe for different reasons...but I believe it is coming eventually. Sorry to say...

Used to not care for Finebaum all that much...but certainly agree with him here.

Programs will raise the money one way or another. In a way, I respect Tennessee's transparency.
Tennessee AD Danny White - son of Kevin - is an ND grad and was a walk on basketball player for the Irish. He is the highest paid AD in the country.
Fans feel they have the right to boo now days because they no longer look at the players as amateur college athletes. More like hired guns, NIL, and transfers. Then all this idiotic conference alignment and the destruction of long time rivalry games.
I don’t know maybe it’s where I was raised. But when ND played football, you went to the game or watched it on TV. It’s in me.
I think college football players have talent & it’s fun to watch college football, I think they should get a piece of the pie. It’s not like game tickets are free or the television broadcasts are commercial free. This could be their best shot to make some money…I’m fine with them getting that.
That’s just my 2 cents, if others feel differently that’s cool too.
But, imho, college athletics for the participants is time consuming, they should be compensated for their time & talent.
