night.
Passing, deep bombs, deep routes and the ability to find the open WR is the only way to win big games or a championship in CFB today.
Sorry, Defense is extremely important. It helps, but it no longer wins championships.
legs. When you have that ability it opens the passing game up. Watson was a pretty good passer but his arm strength exceeded his accuracy. Lawrence had both but the reason they beat Alabama was not strictly because of long bombs. Sure it would be helpful to have both, a dynamic passing game with arm strength to complete long bombs but in those cases, their ability to make plays with their legs turned out to be the backbreaking plays that broke down Alabama's other wise advantageous personnel. It also opened up the passing game and promoted easier passing lanes and did not require dead accurate passes.
We have Leonard who is more of a bonafide running threat with his arm strength being adequate but his accuracy being inconsistent. If he improves and he did against Louisville, (until the coaches took their foot off the pedal), he could do the job. It takes a lot of luck and unfortunately we are decimated by injuries. I do like the looks of our younger players and the kid that replaced Bothello looks like he could be a huge difference maker if he can now overcome what looks to be a bad knee injury maybe not this year but next year.
I still think Leonard gives us our best chance to win the rest of our games this year.
can't be run only / one-dimensional. Just like you can have statues like Peyton Manning anymore either.
You are arguing with yourself.

ready. You assume you see the passing struggles Leonard has had, but the coaches do not. You don't know what is going on behind the scenes. Leonard may be the best option at this time (if the goal is still to win a championship). If we put in Angeli, Carr or Minchey and lose a few games, we are writing off this year's goal. If we can continue to win with Leonard and bring in a Carr when he is ready, our goal for this year is still possible and we possibly have a more dynamic offense in time for a playoff run.
You come up with this?
Yes, I agree Carr could possibly not be ready.
Angeli HAS proven to be at least as capable as Leonard. I would wager a lot better.
however he does not gives us the best chance to win the big games in the playoffs. He could if he develops a better feel for getting rid of the ball more timely. He needs more protection than Leonard which against the better teams could prove to be fatal if he does not develop a better feel for getting rid of the ball. I don't think he can move the chains as well against the better teams.
o-line) Angeli's lack of mobility could be more one dimensional and more detrimental to the success of the offense. Again, you know better than the professionals who are with them every day.
How dare he comment on things the public eyes HAVE seen.

Another lapse or team not prepared.
But if u watch that Georgia and Alabama or Miami game , there is no way we could keep up with that not even remotely close.
Teams with good talent should win at least 10 games against our schedule this year.
Winning against the upper echelon with our offense is pure fantasy. This offense is an abomination. There are a few reasons for it but our coaching staff philosophy is the #1 reason and until that changes our recruiting won’t matter. U dont win college football games against high end teams with a ball control offense. We have seen that play out quite a few times in the recent past. You may win a 1st round game against a team with a weak offense.
I am not sure we even want a home playoff game. Our stadium and crowd does not create a home field advantage
his offense with no TO’s.
MIA, ORE, PSU, UTAH?
10 games - what's your take?
Angeli in my opinion. Angeli would get sacked way too often. Leonard, although our line is mediocre would possibly be able to overcome the fierce pass rush of those teams. Angeli might perform better against the mediocre teams.

uneven and PSU reminds me of ND, strong D, little O.
That's a ridiculous question because no one plays that schedule. No one believes ND is on the same level as Georgia, Alabama, OSU, Texas but why do so many fools on this site have to denigrate every game whether it's a 66-7 win against Purdue or a win against a very talented Louisville squad? And the bigger question is why would any kid want to play for such a unappreciative fan base? I'm sure there's plenty of room left on the Alabama bandwagon for the disgruntled ND "fans".
Championship caliber teams.
Not sure why people come so unhinged with the idea of comparing yourself (honestly) with the thing you aspire to be.
Relatively to relevance matters.
