Probably will drop ND to around 14th in recruiting on 247. No top 50 player and only 2 in the top 100. Not good.

He was never coming to ND! NIL and Transfer Portal are killing college football. We can't fix that mess, but my concern is the lack of recruiting stud O and D linemen. We have a poor O line which contributes to the QB and overall ability to move the ball. Quite frankly, any QB would struggle in this O. D line lacks the physical size and nastiness to compete. Yes, injuries are a problem, but we lack suitable replacement linemen on both sides of the ball. Recruit these players to have a great program. Keith Jackson called them " big uglies" for a reason!

picked and chose a few others he wanted to keep in contact with. Don't let the door hit ya.........
Headache avoided.
If he sits he will likely look for a new opportunity. Auburn isn't the kind of program where big QB recruits bide there time.
If his NIL is in the millions, the above is likely moot.
I wish we could have held onto him, but in the end it's his decision, and his alone.
This reminds me of the time that Barry Manilow announced to the world that he was gay in recent years.
The reaction by everyone:
We know.
On another note, this makes the commitment of Noah Grubbs that much more critical.

Carr will be fine. Grubbs in 26 is more important. That said Freeman will probably grab Sluka out of the portal and hand him the job anyway.

If they don’t have a plan someone needs to be fired.
We need a QB in this class. Can u imagine if 1 of the 3 transfer who is likely we would have 2 QBs on scholarship and have to dip into the portal for numbers.
No way, Duece was sricking around in portal times to backup Carr.

It mirrors the HC.

Freeman better have his spatula ready.
Theyll probably use him to flip others.
But they have to have a backup plan
Considering how this went they should have moved on 2 months ago. They let him control the process instead of dictating.
Seemed desperate

If you look at the last couple MF classes against what we have seen on the field so far, the recruiting rankings don't matter.
And in this environment, he's almost as likely to be at ND as Auburn 2 years from now.

But that’s asking too much from you isn’t it

He would never have stuck around.
It's all about him
He played Freeman and the recruits he tried to get to ND

a guy who will tell ND he's "committed" while seriously entertaining Auburn for months is probably someone whose commitment to Auburn may not be rock solid.
