landing some stud defensive linemen. That's where the NIL $$$ need to be channeled now!

Good at running but not necessarily a great passer. He probably saw how tenuous it was in person last week and thought he could be the starter coming out of spring ball.
Grubbs is a lot like Carr, that he's already a very polished pocket passer with a strong arm and reasonably good mobility. With either guy at the helm, the whole playbook is accessible.
I won't begrudge Deuce Knight for leaving, especially in this day and age of significant NIL monies, and I'm pretty sure he'd have an easier path to starting at Auburn. It's his choice, and his alone.
I simply wish he had stayed, since he certainly does have the raw talent to succeed if coached correctly.
At least he did it early in the recruiting cycle, and didn't blatantly make any prima donna demands like CJ Leak did, where Leak demanded that we stop recruiting other quarterbacks in the same class, and also for the class the year after. By the time Leak flipped to Wake Forest, QB depth was bad as it was, and it was too late to recruit another QB for that year.
The sad thing was, that we acquiesced to every one of Leak's demands at the time, but he still bolted, since Wake Forest promised all of the above, plus promising not to recruit any more quarterbacks for two years, and promising him the starting spot as a true freshman, since they were even worse at the QB position (in terms of depth). We were left holding the bag, and after Arnaz Battle was lost for the year in 2000 after breaking his wrist, we were resorting to plugging in Gary Godsey as the QB...
We don't have that problem, since we have excellent QB depth and talent.
