I really hope we don’t go to the portal again this coming year.
At some point we have to recruit a guy and go with him. And if our strategy is to go after guys in the portal, then don’t bother recruiting QBs and change our rules regarding transfers and the portals. 3 years in a row is already ridiculous.
They need to hit the portal for WR and DL next year.

If you recruited a guy that can make all the throws, then go with him, but you can’t do that with a Buchner or Pyne, two guys that couldn’t throw at an elite level else your relegating the team to 2 losses for a couple of years
The staff has not recruited well enough at receiver to absorb a QB even as good as Book to win a championship, if the staff had Ohio State receivers, Angeli could win a championship
Then maybe the answer isn’t portal QBs but portal WRs

There appears to be favoritism this year as to whether the portal QB is really ND's best QB.

Dave Portnoy is willing to pay Bryce Underwood $3M to go to SCUM
They were interested in Carr at one point. If there’s still interest and he’s not getting a shot, he should look elsewhere.
And if our QB recruiting is such that we can’t get someone decent despite the fact that every other school seems to be able to, then maybe Marcus isn’t the guy.
